welcome to our blog

We are excited to launch the Holocaust Research Consultancy Blog!

We welcome contributions from researchers, educators, archivists, librarians, museum professionals, students, family historians, and others working in Holocaust Studies and related fields.

The blog is intended as a space to share research, ideas, discoveries, and reflections. We are particularly interested in contributions that bridge academic research, education, family history, and public engagement.

We welcome both completed research and research in progress. Contributors are encouraged to share emerging findings, methodological reflections, archival discoveries, and questions that may benefit from wider discussion and collaboration.

There are no fixed formats for contributions. Posts might focus on a single document, testimony, photograph, collection, research project, teaching resource, exhibition, family history, or broader historical question. We also welcome reflections on research methods, archival discoveries, and challenges encountered during the research process.

Possible themes include:

  • Holocaust history and memory
  • Survivor and refugee experiences
  • Jewish history and culture
  • Archives, libraries, and collections
  • Family history and genealogy
  • Oral history and testimony
  • Holocaust education and pedagogy
  • Museums, exhibitions, and public history
  • Antisemitism, displacement, and migration
  • Media, literature, and representation

Contributors may wish to consider some of the following questions:

  • What historical story does this source, collection, or research project reveal?
  • What challenges arose during the research process?
  • How can this material help us better understand the Holocaust and its aftermath?
  • What new questions does the material raise?
  • Are there gaps, silences, or ambiguities in the historical record?
  • How might this research be relevant to educators, researchers, family historians, or wider audiences today?

Posts may include documents, photographs, maps, or other source material. Contributors are responsible for ensuring that any material shared complies with copyright, privacy, and ethical requirements.

To propose a contribution, please send a short description of your idea to the HRC team on contact@holocaustresearchconsultancy.org. We will be happy to discuss the scope of the piece, any accompanying images or supporting materials, and the editorial process.

Any opinions shared in the HRC Blog are the views of their authors and do not represent the HRC or its researchers.
